I ended up going to Arizona earlier than expected.
It was an eventful trip to say the least....
My sister ended up coming with me for the 15 and a half hour drive to Phoenix. We saw this same guy at two different gas stations that were hundreds of miles apart, so she (my sis) ended up inviting him to follow us to Phoenix since he was also heading that way.
So he followed us some, and we followed him some... And then we got to our hotel and he left.
Later he called and took us out to dinner and a movie. Which was pretty neat, considering I was shitting a brick about her inviting some random guy to follow us and stuff.
Well we ended up hanging out with him a lot. And we found out he lived in CO also ANNNND that he wasn't totally a legal resident.. Which was crazy. But he spoke okay English and I learned some Spanish, which was really special.
I sang wayyyy too much karaoke. And ate a lot of Mexican food.
My sister and I ended up getting in a big dumb fight, and she decided to leave me in AZ and take a flight home... Which meant that she got a refund on the hotel, and I was left with no where to stay. I had paid for all the gas and food and entertainment and the rental car for the most part, which left me with very little money.
So I went to Motel 6. Lol.
I spent the duration of my trip doing some self searching, some crying... well a lot of crying.... some photography, some walking, some meeting random people, and some experiencing being alone and scared for the first time in my life.
Needless to say, it was FUCKI

funny, the first thing I thought when you mentioned Arizona was the new law supposed to go into effect in 3 months that requires local law enforcement to question people about their immigration status if they have reason to suspect they're not from this country, which of course is an open invitation to racism. And then the topic of status comes up in your post. I've never been to Arizona, must be an interesting social climate there.
