so i worked this morning, and it wasnt so bad. other then getting up at 730-well i woke up the and slept late til 745, and had to work at 830, but i got there ontime and it was a short day, only til 12.....now i am home relaxing, need to roll one up...but i was thinking to today..here goes////
it must have been reLly strange prior to photos...i know thats a generalization, let me elaborate. ppl would have to sit for hours at a time, for days and even weeks, to get a likeness of them painted. or maybe a sketch took less time. but my point being, ppl didnt start having portraits of themselves but only like a century ago, which sounds long but tis really not. i am wondering if ppl now are more self obsessed because ofthis, or at least image obsessed. i mean i love photo, LOVE it. i love taking pictures, and seeing other ppls even bad photos i like. bu t i was just thinking its weird to think ppl carfry little portraits of ppl in their wallets, and when someone dies we have like memorial phoots next to their dead bodies at the funeral- it jsut must be strange to exist so vividly in colour after your dead. i am rambling, this sounded bettter in my head, now it just sounds re re ta ta/ my point simply put is, my how society has changed due to cameras. self obsession, object obsession, who knows, but image seems so vital now, and before you could only look at youself in the mirror, but now vanity is everywhere. strange strange.
