I am crushed by Bush's slim margin of victory. I fear the future in a way I never have before. Our country has been denigrated by a liar, a megalomaniac whose self-interest outweighs any decisions he makes about this nation. He allows the tenets of his adopted religion to dictate policy; his moral compass is nowhere near mine, and I resent the overt morality and its suspect roots.
This day will be known to me as Black Wednesday.
However, this pathetic situation focuses my resolve to stand up to this bastard, to reclaim pride in my flag and my nation, to strengthen the Democratic party with my resolve so that they are able to field a successful candidate who will lead us in a different direction. I will not go down without a fight, as this country has better days yet to come. As long as the rest of the world does not crush us with disdain, and Bush does not crush us with Orwellian laws and slaughter of our children in his total war, I will again see a day when I can be proud of my nation.
If you did not vote, shame on you.

Thanks for the wishes of luck, I've got more crossed fingers than I know what to do with.
