Solstice party today!
Yeah, I know the solstice isn't actually today, but I can start celebrating the return of the longer days of light. Heh, most of my friends can't do a sunday party, but I am now off work for the holidays! Yip!
I'm going to attempt to make smoked pork. I made a smoker using big ol flowerpots, the pork has been in brine all night. I'm making coffee now, and will get the whole thing going within the hour. Updates to follow!

8:49AM. Smoker assembled and smoking. Pork draining from its brine. Fire extinguisher at the ready.
10:26Am. Wooo! Smoker is working just as I had hoped. I don't have the exact right thermometer for the job... it's sposed to stay at 210F all day. I've pegged the lil meat thermometer at 170, the wood is just smoldering, the meat is sweating and the dry rub is working its way into the meat. I have to stop taking the top off now that I'm satisfied that it's working the way I want it to. Heh. Fun!
