stick it to the man!
so a few months back, i saw a website that was talking about a class action lawsuit against the RIAA for price fixing. Apparently, they had been boosting the prices, etc, to the tune of a few dollars an album (not surprising to music fans... or anyone, really). I have a large music collection, so I signed up as a plaintiff in the lawsuit (amazing what you'll do when it's available online) and promptly forgot about it.
the other day i went to my mailbox and pulled out a small piece of mail... a check for about $14 from the group that had sued the RIAA and a brief letter from the Attorney General of Utah thanking me for my involvement....
Sad thing is I'll bet that 14 bucks goes straight to another cd purchase...
