RAMBUTAN!!

Holy shit... I just found some nice, reasonably fresh rambutan at my local grocery store. Now, keep in mind, this isn't even a multinational chain store, or a small speciality asian shop... it's a local grocer in utah. WITH RAMBUTAN! I haven't seen these in at least 6 years, and never in the states (well, I've only looked locally, but you know what I mean).

I tore one open when I got home, and oh man... it was a seedling, so the seed was a bit large, but oh how I missed that flavour! Fantastic fruit. If you ever see them, buy 'em. Tasty, if a bit odd looking. The checkout chicks stared, wide-eyed, at them when I paid. The girl on the register was simply confused as hell. She nearly shat herself when I told her they were listed as 8 bucks a pound.


Totally worth it.
