My state is on fire.
It has been end-of-day twilight since the sun rose today because of smoke blown in last night. The winds are from the east, which during summer on the USA West Coast (Oregon specifically) happens only a few times each CENTURY. Dry wind with dry smoke and ash on top of already tinder-dry conditions... hell has arrived.
Every 15 minutes for the past 6 hours the EAS has gone off with a new evacuation alert. For the first time in decades whole towns, small and rural but still a town, are being completely wiped from existence. Even though I'm safe for now, so many are not.
2020 is a year that will live in infamy...
