Get me get me a little closer
Let me see the phantom view
Take me right into the center
Of the 911-news
Get me get me my voyeur fetish
Keep me shackled all day through
Electronic world transmission
Everything I see is true
Give me give me observation
Let me have the on-site feel
Give me give me the true sensation
For I need a touch of real
Show me show me what is happening
In the world beyond my door
And in time I'll be forgetting
What i have been living for
Help me help me I'm too frightened
To fulfill my hardest task
Will I ever find the answers
To the things I dare not ask
Electronic World Transmission - Rotersand

So, we went to the Covenant show last night. Do not mistake, humans, for I love Covenant, but the band I really wanted to see was the opening act, Rotersand. And so, to San Francisco we went. For us a trip to the city never seems complete without a few things: Getting lost trying to find Japan Town, because even though I've been there a bunch of times, I can never seem to remember where it is, and a trip to the restaurant known as the Manor Grill owned by the human we like to call Brocklee. The first we accomplished, and then after wandering around purchasing: his and hers backscrubbers, and egg slicer, another squeaky hammer because the first got left at Becca's after the housewarming, a tea ball, one package of mochi and a very small stone Buddha, we decided it was time to go eat.
On our way out of the Miyako Mall, we passed by a small shop called Tanpopo. I had to investigate to see if it was what I thought it was and sure enough: Ramen shop! I suggested we eat there instead, but he was adamant that we go to Brocklee's. And we did. And It was closed. Hey, everyone gets a night off now and again, yeah? We did end up going back to Japan Town and eating at Tanpopo-ya. Very good Ramen. Kono ramen wa oishi desu yo! Ahem. Nan demo nai.
Anyhow, the show: I had a good feeling about it when we parked, and I looked up and saw this sign:

So we saunter up to the DNA Lounge- no humans, we did not walk, or canter, or sidle up- we sauntered. And this tall German dude with a thick accent eyeballs .... I can't call him Kage. I just can't. Anywho, so this tall German dude eyeballs Ryan's little Berlin jackety-thing and says in a thick accent "Are you from Berlin?" This was only funny because he sounded SO hopeful that Ryan might indeed be from Berlin. Ryan replied in his best German accent that no, he was not, and that it was a beautiful city. Got in, got a Rotersand shirt, got drinks, and got ourselves ensconced in the space we planned to take up for the evening up on the catwalk. Rotersand came on and was fucking awesome. Very tall shaved-head German dude, just super happy to be there, and having a great time. I took a short video with my digital camera- the sound is absolutely terrible, so be aware. The song playing is actually supposed to sound like this.
And without further ado:
Imperative Reaction was good, but not as good, and then Covenant was fucking amazing. I danced my ass off. It was an awesome day spent with someone I love, eating food that I love, and listening to music that I love. Amazing.
