I have to admit I stopped reading shortly after Winter's Heart came out, although I do have a copy autographed by the author (which was nice; a friend got it as a gift, and I'll always be fond of it for that reason no matter what happens with the rest of the series). So if it has gone downhill from there I have been spared that, but someday I fully intend to finish reading the series... you know, when it's done. Which will happen. Eventually. Right?
But mostly I use it to mentally score geek references whenever I happen to see a familiar name in passing.
Ordered a used Hasselbald A12 back and an Acute-Matte screen from Keh. UPS dropped it off yesterday at 4pm (a few minutes after I had left for work). However, when my wife got home at 6pm, no package. God damnit, that shit isn't cheap and it's not like it's going to be of any use to whoever stole it.
"Fuck England," I said. "This is Middle America. These people regard what you're doing to them as a brutal, bilious insult. Look what happened last night. I thought my brother was going to tear your head off."
Steadman shook his head sadly. "But I liked him. He struck me as a very decent, straightforward sort."
awww!! i so would have giving you chocolates. instead, i guess all i can give you is an asian kid in a sack....just b/c it's a fucking asian kid in a sac!!:
That is awesome, your friend will definately be bringing the fun lol.
Definately man. Right now I'm up for a new job, first and second shift applied for, security position. But if I don't hear from them soon, we should plan it out. Otherwise, I'd need to work my schedule out around it, but I'm game either way.
If you're gonna scan your stuff, try using chrome film- it'll blow your mind, especially with a Hasselblad lens. I don't even shoot C-41 anymore, unless I have a specific purpose in mind.
by the way, I like the HMA interior. did you use powershot photostitch or CS for that? I'm really interested in panos, but I do it manually in Photoshop, cause I can't figure out the auto stitch function (also, I worked on a 7-image pano for about three months, only to see CS released with that function a month later)
Thanks! That was one of a half dozen unposed snapshots taken over about 60 seconds with a mixture of incandescent light (from a floor lamp with a large paper shade) and sunlight bouncing around in the room. I used my 70-200 IS and a D60. Zero makeup. I "added" slightly darker lips and eyelashes when I was tinkering with it in Photoshop. I was lucky, mostly, but I might use a setup like this again sometime - deliberately.
It's more fun to travel with the D60 unless I have some need for 8.5 fps. Hopefully I can figure out a way to turn my 1D/D60 into 1DMkII/20D next year.
