I suppose I should probably update this... except I never know what to write.
The powers that be in my job have seen fit to cross-train me as an electrician, since they think they may need one when my contract expires in 15 months. This could mean I get to keep a job after the fact (here's hoping), but it's still looking grim.
A consequence of this cross-training is yours truly going back to college to study electrical engineering. Sounds interesting, doesn't it (well, ok, to the nerds reading this it might), except I did all of this crap in the first few weeks of the aviation electronics degree I did already.
Anywho, the course is only one semester long and then I'm back to work (thankfully), but at least I'm still getting paid for my time here. I have to do another one of these next year too, though.
Making the most of a bad situation, I'm having my fun with it at least. Today the lecturer told us, at the end of the class, that we all needed to have at least one question for her to answer regarding the topic of that class, even if we "already know everything because we're a genius", motioning the last bit of the sentence toward me, resulting in ribbing from classmates for the rest of the day.
Well, she brought it on herself. If I have to ask a question, and if she has to answer it (and if she must attempt to make a spectable of me), then I've decided on one. It revolves around electron movement tracking and measurement through a circuit with respect to the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. If she wants to answer that, she's going to need to visit the physics department. For a few years.
In other news, I bought a lamp that can change the light it puts out through 256 different colours via a touch-dial. It's amazing, but it's also going to be the downfall of man. I played with it for an hour after getting it. I am far, far too amused by this lamp.
I love lamp...
