FINALLY.
After going through two modems, two routers, a gateway, a switch and a hybrid that I built out of the remnants of a modem and a router, I've finally gotten internet access back after ten days. My iPhone was tiding me over until now (I'm going to kiss Steve Jobs if I ever meet him) but the 3G service was still too slow to use this site effectively, and many of my other most frequented sites are heavily flash reliant, so I couldn't visit those either.
But...
While writing this, a new problem has reared it's ugly head. The new router I bought to replace all the bodge jobs I had to try to make while I was waiting for time to actually go into the city to pick a new router up (out here in the country there isn't exactly a wealth of stores, let alone pc stores), is weak as fuck. The connection is dropping CONSTANTLY, no matter if you're beside it or 30 yards away. I'm going to have to buy a big-ass booster aerial for the wireless card on this computer because I'm not going through the nightmare of setting up yet another wireless network on 4 computers.
