Close your eyes, Concentrate,
Think of a peaceful place, a safe place,
A place that you know, Is comfortable and warm.
Picture it in your mind’s eye, and know this…
It will be all right, for I will be there with you,
Lying quietly by your side, holding you gently in my arms,
Throughout the night, and for all time.
Let me in spirit; take you by the ethereal hand,
Let your spirit leave your body; let me be your guide.
Put your trust in me, and place your hand in mine,
Allow me to take you away, and to be your companion,
Permit me to take you, from all of your worries,
And from all of your pain.
Let me take you away, just for a little while,
Let me show you, all the wonders that I have to share,
My experiences, my past,
The deepest, inner most, part of me.
To truly know me, you must know that part of me,
That part of me, which I keep secret, and hidden,
It is a long trip, but a necessary one,
For I keep it buried deep inside.
We must travel through the hardened layers,
Of my own defenses, of which there are many,
My idiosyncrasies, my foibles,
My passions, my loathes,
We must travel through the darkest part of me,
To find the jewel that has formed within,
Under all of the tremendous pressure of life’s trials and tribulations,
All the things I silently fought against, to keep what little sanity,
I had, in tact.
All the things I raged against in the maelstrom of my own mind,
All the anger, resentment, hatred, guilt, anguish, torment,
At having lost so much, having to keep it contained.
Not being able to tell another living soul.
You must know all of me; I want you to know, I need you to know,
I must prove to you, that not only am I worthy of your love,
But also, must I prove to you, that I have nothing to hide.
