i had one of the worst expriences waiting tables sunday brunch: the place was packed with an early pop of wankers on their way to see evita downtown. i was hauling a tray of mimosas and bloody marys through a herd of people mooing to get a table by the hostess stand (which is next to the bar) when a lady tripped me. I went down. hard. and the whole tray crashed on these 5 old ladies on the bench. all in their sunday best. it was just like one of those server nightmares. VERY lucky for me, they turned out to be the nicest people in the crowd, and were more worried about me on the floor. "i've had this skirt since probably the seventies." she asked me if i was hurt, i told her only my pride was bruised.
also, today i waited on three ladies, one who was celebrating her 90th birthday. she was so awesome. someone said she should come back for her 100th, she got this look on her face and replied:
"God, i hope not."
"what about 95?"
"no, no , NO. That's too long. maybe next year. that'll be plenty."
i didn't expect much as far as money went, but i really was enjoying waiting on them, they were so sweet, so a spoiled them a bit. (c'mon, she's 90 for gods sake)
then tthey left a 30% tip. if only everybody were that cool.
okay so that was a really long update about my job.
i told loslope that i probably deep down dream about one day being a revolutionary more than being a rock star, or having my paintings in the moma.
questions:
are you a fixer-upper person, or move-in-ready?
mountains, or beach?
what country would live in, other than the one you are in now? why?
EDIT: HOLLY SHIT WHERE IS HEXE??!!
