Happy birthday to me.
I don't know why this seems to always happen, but I'm celebrating my birthday alone again this year. The last two years, I've been away for work on my birthday. And this year, Brankauti is in England.
Oh well.
I was working in Newport RI this past week. It's only an hour and a half away, but we were putting in 10-15 hour days, so I was staying at a hotel there. Newport is a nice little island town. There's a great little brew pub, Coddington Brewing Company. I had a Brewer's Feast. Sounded like a lot of food. It wasn't. I even had enough room for a piece of key lime pie. Yum. I picked up a matchbook, but it got wet the next day. I guess that just means I'll have to go back.
Brankauti and I went up to the Boston Tattoo Convention last weekend. That was fun. We bought some stuff. Said hello to friends. And met a couple new ones. It was crazy crowded, so we didn't stay too long.
Plans are coming together for the forth annual Practice Thanksgiving. Practice Thanksgiving was created for two reasons: first, most people don't get to eat Thanksgiving dinner with their friends, due to eating with their families; and second, Thanksgiving dinner is almost always the same food, and this is a chance have some non-conventional food. This one is going to be on October 21st. The main course is going to be deep fried turduckin. I've never done turduckin before, sounds like fun.
My brain isn't firing on all cylinders today. I was up 'til 7 am last night for no good reason. Slept from 7 to 1 pm. I feel a little wonky. I'm used to going to sleep at 10. (I'm 32, what do you expect?! )
Sheharazad (our cat) is very happy I'm home. She hasn't left my side since I came in the door. I was away long enough for all my little cat scratches had healed. She doesn't think that's right. So, I'm sporting a couple new scratches. It's not like she randomly scratches me. We like to play rough.

On my way home tonight, an asshole in a yellow pickup made a very slow right turn in front of me at a stop sign, then burnt rubber, throwing stones at my car. A large one made a good chip in my windshield. I flashed him, but he just sped away. grrrrr. There's more, but it's not exciting.
Been a while since I've updated. I feel like I should have more to say. I don't.

and yes, Lou had a cochlear implant several years ago and communicates quite well these days...
It's awesome that you're an engineer! I may have some questions for you sometime soon, I'm going for mechanical, but I'm still not completely sure what that means. Thanks a lot, I hope you had a good birthday!
