Brankauti is back, safe and sound.
The weekend was good. Relaxed. Watched football. And did some plumbing (that's an odd word).
On Monday, while Sherazade and I were playing sparkle ball, we heard a thud that made us both jump and spin around. I thought that it was possibly a bird that hit the window. I looked out and sure enough, there was a little Connecticut Warbler laying on the ground. So, I grabbed a paper towel and went out and picked him up. He was breathing and blinking, but not moving. So, I just brought him inside, hoping that with a little warmth and time, he'd come out of it. After a little time, he started to stand on his own. So, in order to isolate him from a curious cat, I put him in the shower with some seed and water. So, after a short while, I returned to see him gaping at me. Brankauti occupied the cat, while I tried to get the bird outside. As soon as he saw the windows he started squirming and got out of my hands. He flew around the house for a bit. He didn't like me holding him, but I got him to sit on my finger. He stayed there until I got outside. Even then, I had to kind of throw him off my hand.
I made some pasta yesterday. Started out trying to make it vegan. Wasn't coming out right, so, I had to add egg. But I had to double to batch. So, we ended up with 6 lbs of fresh pasta. What the hell are we going to do with all that pasta? Pasta for every meal for two days sounds like an interesting option.
Cat is giving me an evil stare. Time to play...
