I went over to my favorite paintball park on Monday for their annual "Alien Invasion" game, I some how got myself roped into being the "General" for one of the teams.
The Alien Invasion is a two part game, the first part is in the woods field where the Alien team has three "Life Pods" at various defensible locations through out 35 acres of forest, and the Human Team has to go in and try to capture and return the Life Pods to our "Fort".
At the start of the game we have to first fight our way into the woods form one of the speed ball fields titled "Fort Sasquatch" once we do that we start looking for the Pods, the hard part about that is the Pods let the Alien team "resurrect" which means if they get shot out they go touch the Pod and they're back in the game.
This year the human team was given fifteen minutes of resurrection to capture the first life pod after capturing the pod we would receive a "medic vest" which means if we get shot out we go find the medic slap him or her a high five and we're back in the game, trick is if the medic gets shot the vest is eliminated not just the player wearing it.
We finally captured the first pod about twenty minutes into the game and got the second pod about five minutes after that, capturing the second pod immobilized the Aliens "Tank" which is other wise unstoppable, unfortunately this doesn't stop it from shooting.
The Aliens managed to stop us from capturing the third Pod but we made them work hard to do it.
For the second game the Human team is on the defensive, the Alien team is trying reclaim their Life Pods form our fort. The Alien team has to fight it's way out of the woods into Fort Sasquatch drop the "Draw bridge" and shoot down all the targets on the other side of it which represent the defenders. If the Aliens shoot down all the targets they win, if they don't the Humans win. This year the Human team held the Aliens back to the point we actually eliminated the Alien team before the game time ran out.
If your ever in the Kitsap County area for a Saturday or a Sunday you should stop by North West Paintball Park and check it.
