How else do you define the self except through artefacts? Objects provide the necessary information about a person required to plug the gaps between what comes out of their mouth and what you think they might actually be...the gap between what someone preaches and what they actually practice..hope I make sense.
That's part of it any way.
That's a bit of a 'cultural lens' but.
elana:
Boo-urns. Hot chocolate should never make one ill.

She broke my heart.

That's why it feels this way.

It makes a lot more sense when I think about how I felt, and not how people think I should feel.

Pah -

rereading your own rants makes you realise how crazy upset you were.

Calming down is good, but seeing why you were angry is better. Consider this: same beliefs, less anger.

Everybody wins. biggrin

It's probably about time I get one of those Spring-variety updates happening.

The Tokyo Game Show is this weekend! Revolution's going to be unveiled, I hear, with details - and most importantly: controller details. Should lead to some astonished faces, I would expect.

Then Monday is Talk Like a Pirate Day, and after that - Agnes is coming back! biggrin What thoroughly exciting times we live...

Oh yes. The pods.

Way too many have been eaten. As for the Jungle Jellies...well, a house guest managed to discover them and snaffled the lot. Not before ate all the raspberry ones, though.

The pods remained largely unshared - thankfully Katie hates them so they have remained mostly exclusive to me. biggrin

I didn't realise you were sending so much! My measly parcel seems measly in comparison.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

A mysterious bonus parcel is on the way...

natatree:
Yay for those anonymous benefactor's!

Real life is better than ancient computers. Please read Still Life with Woodepecker. It will change you. (Also, that's where I got that wonderful quote from.)

I cuddled as much as I could, when they were sick they got to sleep in my bedroom. Are they originally from India?I know that they are eaten in Argentina, an Argentinian restaurant down here tried to add them to the menu, but met with resistance from unfriendly media and the cavies society. I admit, I would try one.
sticks:
So, have you decided what your preferred Jaffa cake eating technique is yet? It's a hotly debated issue!

Further Update: Fuck this 1500k up/256k down bullshit. I found that when you sign up for their phone thing as well, you can get like 12,000k up/1500k down! That's, like, really quite fast.

Update: I am now connected to the interweb with iiiNet's lovingly offered stop-gap dial-up solution. It feels faster already, and I know that's impossible.

All good things, especially if I omit the...

Wheeljack - p'shaw. My Swindle would kick his ass!

The Algebraist has been put on the backburner, but it's definitely a good read, I'm not just messing with the populace. biggrin There are some great future-tech ideas in there, but the story takes quite a while to get going.

Nice!

I was talking to someone at work about my diet at (my failed year of) university, which consisted mainly of fish finger sandwiches and vodka. I call it the FFV plan. biggrin

Yay for bloatedness!

There's actually a site called Cyber Candy which I often look at but never buy anything from. It's laced with international delights, but the shipping charge makes buying a few small bars pretty costly.

Our International Candy/Biscuit Exchange is a far better idea! biggrin
