EDIT:
ROCK OUT!!1

Vastnormous journal today, because I'm supposed to be getting ready for a tute.
' The important thing about a map is that it *differs* from the territory. The most accurate, and therefore most useless, map is the territory itself '
That's not so much a quote as an amost-paraphrased version of something Gaiman possibly made up. I like it... the best advice is experiencing it yourself, but when do you most need experience?
This is one of the better things I've seen in the last day or two:
生きていても.... 意味がない!
Ah, I love it - for both the melodrama, and for the naked lady. Both good things.
Continuum starts THIS FUCKING FRIDAY!!! They have panel discussions about Dr. Who and shit. Got work Friday, so I miss out on my beloved first-night drinking and meet-up, but it's possible that if I do some arse-busting earlier in the week I can get Friday off and geek it up in style and freedom.
Other good things about Continuum. 'Maskobalo' is Esperanto. What better language to use for a virtually monocultural event (save for the token nod to anime) than one claiming to be completely synthetic, but that actually bears a striking resemblance to all things Indo-European. Yeah, yeah... that's just 'my opinion'.
A person I know, who is awesome and called Liah, is bringing a jar marked 'Gaiman Breath Jar', for the man himself to breathe into then be sealed forever. I advise putting some glad-wrap under the lid, for it locks in the freshness.
Just about done reading American Gods... I'm at that point of mopping up, where the idea the author wanted to impart has well and truly sunk in, and I'm just clearing up the storyline now - getting it out of the way so I can get down to some serious deep thought about which of the ideas I'm now having are actually mine, and which I've simply forgotten were Gaiman's. Plagiarism is an ugly word.

Dad's Home is fantastical! Random head fires, appliances being punched, laser-eyes...it has it all!
