something that bothers me:
so....i'm a pretty hirsute girl. and i often get shit for it. it might not bother me so much if it came from some stranger or something. but it's my younger sister who's always like "you should trim that" or "you should shave". it doesn't upset me to hear that because i'm (for lack of a better word) hairy. it upsets me because she's learned and is going by someone else's standard of beauty, rather than being comfortable with her body and just the female anatomy in general. she seems to think that having hair on your girly bits is gross and she gives me crazy looks when i try to explain to her that along with breasts and wide hips, it's just a sign of feminine maturity. i could almost understand her telling me to keep my shit in check if i was like grizzly adams or something, but i make an effort to keep it looking nice and trimmed and neat. i'm not gonna lie and say that i've never shaved and don't shave on occasion, but i really don't see why people have a problem with women not shaving. here's another example. my sister and i were at delia's sometime last month because they were doing this special discount thing and i'm all about buying things cheap when i can. so i buy what i want and didn't really pay too much attention to what was in my shopping bag. then i get home and i'm taking my clothes out of the bag and i saw that there was a little sample thing of shave gel in there. i think that's pretty ridiculous considering the average age of the girls who shop there. it's like they're being programmed to feel a certain way about their bodies. what i wanna know is, where did this standard of beauty even come from? why is it so unacceptable to be okay with being hairy? any comments?

Now, I usually prefer pubic hair to clean shaven, but I don't make a big deal about it. I think if a woman wants to be clean shaven for whatever reason, it's her right to do so, and the same goes for "hairy" women. I don't think women should be forced to go along with a shaven program, and again, the same should be said about clean shaven women. I don't discriminate, and neither should anyone else I think.
no... wait... weird... sorry... just channeled a dead right wing psycho, I think...
I'm a libertarian through and through. do what makes you happy so long as you harm no one else. this world has many pleasures to enjoy; who am I say what is best for someone else?
All that to say, good for you. I think you're a beautiful person for your beliefs.
