Damn, gotta love roomates. They're great when its time to split the bills and put some extra spending cash in your pocket, but when they fuck up it sucks.
Got one roomate in charge of the electricity bill, ie: its in his name. We each pay 1/3 of it to the company each month. Got another roomate that hasn't payed (or mentioned) the bill for the past 2 or 3 months. So every month we've been short 1/3 of the bill.
Today the notice comes that we have 48 hours to fork up $180 or the power goes bye bye.
Well, roomate 1 (who's paid his portion) is out of town on leave for a couple of weeks, and roomate two (who's primarily at fault here) is flat ass broke. Course, I'm not exactly swimming in spending money either after droping $400 on Monday morning to replace a blown out tire and it's twin, but I still end up dishing out the cash so that I can continue to live in something resembling comfort for another month. What a great afternoon!
On the plus side, work is getting to be more and more fun since I'm spending less and less time there so at least there is something good going on lately. Salary for the win
