I was reminded of the value of an important lesson last night: When making a strong mixed drink, it isn't good to forget any important ingredients... especially the correct mixer to cut the alcohol. I was making Long Islands last night, top shelf everything and I forgot that I needed sweet and sour to top them off before the splash of cola and twist of lemon. For the record, a glass of tequila, vodka, gin, and rum with pepsi is a really horrible drink. I was able to knock it back, but only because I shudder at the idea of wasting that much alcohol. On the plus side,, they were all doubled shots so the one glass was all I needed to drink to get a very nice buzz going.
Headed out to the grocery store in a little bit though, gotta get the right mixers to make my drinks right for the next few days.
