I realized after dr_keys asked me "Whats the story on your tattoos?" That I have never really told that story ANYWHERE on SG. I've told the story of my first one, or a few other quick stories here and there, but i never really got too into it. So Here is the story of my Tattoos... the medium version
Ahhh Tattoos. This would be easier if I didn't have so many.
Back.
Marquesian Masks... i met a Marquesian in Tahiti and he had a bunch that I liked and so I made my own. By Buddahun (Hawaii)
I like Lilies, They are my favorite flower and in Greek mythology they symbolize Femininity aka the Vagina
I think Peacock feathers, they look cool and tattoos are kind of like our peacock feathers.
By Brady Hallowell (Hawaii, 202 Tattoo)
Half Sleeve.
Standard Japanese motif with Chrysanthemums and waves. I think the delicate flowers look amazing and Paul Timman (LA, Sunset Strip Tattoo) did an amazing job keeping them really delicate. Also I really love the ocean and you'll notice all of my tattoos involve water or animals that live in the ocean. This isn't finished yet. at the bottom of it is my mother's signature.
Right Hand.
Polynesian Style starfish. But it is filled with Cherokee symbols and text. the arm close to my knuckles says Cherokee Nation and the other arm says Water Child, in Cherokee Syllabary
the middle is the Cherokee seven pointed star, each point represents a clan of the tribe. The arm on the inside of my wrist if the motif for Rattle Snake skin.
theres also a moon, canoe paddle, bear paw, flower, lau hala (hawaiian) and tears,
there's also some designs the artist made up (Buddahun, Hawaii)
Yes I am Cherokee, no i'm not Hawaiian. But I lived there for 5 years.
Wrists.
My Left wrist has my Dad's signature and the Right has his dates, birth/death. He was cremated and his ashes are in the dates. I don't have a good picture of the dates.
But you can kind of see them here...

Stomach
Mermaids and Manta-rays
I got these at 18. It took 3 different artists. They were originally just the Manta's but people kept thinking they were deer antlers and my pussy was the deer's face... so I added the mermaids and then the tails looked like waves when i wore clothes.
Manta's are in my opinion the most majestic creatures in the ocean. I think Whales are frumpy. And I really like mermaids and have always kind of thought of myself as one.
Foot/leg
In the middle is a turtle and it is my first tattoo. I was 17 and I took my fake ID to South Beach. i had to go to like 5 different shops because no one wanted to tattoo my foot? I used to be a Sea Turtle Data Collector and i would survey nests and free the babies. I had that job for almost 3 years while in High School and college.
At 21 I went to Tahiti and i wanted to get tattooed while i was there. I met a guy named Tehui-Toa who went by Tommy, He didn't speak English and I had to rely on my High School French to get the tattoo done. Oddly we had great communication. We talked about symbols and culture. He was covered in Americana for conventions he had gone to in the US and Canada. I asked if it was offensive for me to put Tahitian on me since I wasn't from there. He said, "i like you, i have put things from your culture on me and everybody say, HEY! You're cool!, But I can't just give you any Tahitian, it all has meaning, so I put my family's design on you." The bottom of the line is standard Polynesian so not to offend, the middle is his family's motif and the top is Tahitian fish.
When i got home, the band and the turtle looked incomplete, so I bought my buddy Buddahun a case of beer and a nugg and we drank and smoked while he doodled a beta-like fish on my foot. I t was the most painful tattoo I've ever had. Not the whole thing just when he got to the bottom of my foot and near my Achilles...
I think I got everything...
