It is bittersweet! Because as many of you know, and some of you don't,
Lorelei as well as a a few other amazing staff photographers have been stripped of their Staff Photographer Status.
I'm really sad about this. I have shot 3 sets with Lorelei all of them beautiful! This news of their dismissal is slowly sending a negative and tense shockwave trough the SG community and it is hitting the Hopefuls and Photographer Hopefuls very hard.
A few people have mentioned that they are dissatisfied with the situation so much that they don't want to be apart of the SG community any longer.
I know by discussing this in my blog only hours before my set goes up is not the wisest choice and by bringing more attention to it only perpetuates the negativity, however the fact remains: There's trouble in Denmark.
Hopefully we can not let all of this effect those of us who are still striving to become SG's, SG Photographers or just in general, those of us who want our sets recognized for the quality and hard work we have put into them.
The situation sucks and I don't enjoy my favorite photographers' work being dismissed for any reason. I also don't like seeing the amazing photographers who are working hard to become staff so discouraged by the current happenings.
In any rate I truly hope this whole matter will be resolved. I love SG and what it stands for. I hope I can further represent that. And its very difficult for my and
Milloux 's Hopeful/Hopeful Photographer set to come out in the mist of the controversy. SG is my family and I don't like that my family is upset right now.
I want everyone to be happy! I want things to be fair. I want SG to continue to represent the Beauty Redefined that originally drew me here in the first place.
Much love to
Lorelei,
ScottSmalin, and any others who have been removed from staff or have not been properly reistated. I hope I can continue to see your amazing photography on the site. And thank you all so much for shooting Hopefuls and beautifully showing your creativity while also making those of us photographed feel so great about ourselves in a world where real beauty is so rarely recognized.
