I will admit that, while pleasant in their prose, my relationship theories leave much room for improvement if I am ever to be happy in any sort of coupling. One can either do what is right, or do what works and since I am unconcerned with what works in this respect, I present you the alternative:
I always hear from women how they aren't much concerned about a man's looks. They like "odd", "weird", "unconventional", "geeky" kinds of guys. Fair enough, but I say if you like one of the aforementioned types of guys, chances are you can't afford (aesthetically) a better looking guy. I have never seen a beautiful woman date a man who wasn't as good looking as them who didn't have money. One thing I am absolutely certain of: no one (no one!) sells anything of value for less than market price. Sure, if you don't value yourself (and these people exist) you are willing to sell for below market value. Rock stars dating supermodels should be proof enough of this. Jesus, just look around. No one drives a piece of crap car who can afford a better one. There are a handful of people who don't drive a luxury car even though they can afford it. But no one, and I mean no one, dates someone uglier than them (unless they have obvious psychological issues.) It's common to hear it said that men are shallow, but to this point, women are far more shallow than men because they consider looks and money; men just looks. "Yeah, but men look for women with money." Pfft. The men who do this are negligible. Most men will say finding a woman with money is a nice bonus; but men are reared from birth to understand that no one but themselves is going to take care of them financially, so they never really look for an easy way out. Whereas a majority of women always have it in the back of their mind that if they find the right guy their life will be easier financially (while men think if they find the right woman theirs will be tougher financially). I wonder if you concur...
