I'm actually not hung over today. It feels awesome.
Especially in light of the fact that, even without seeing Mary Ellen yesterday, I still went out drinking. I felt absolutely terrible all day yesterday, and so I had planned on just sitting on the couch and lamenting my situation for the evening. But when I parked my car back in the complex after work, I noticed that I had parked right next to my friend Luke.
"What are you doing tonight?"
"Nothing; I'm hung over as fuck."
"Nope! You're coming to see The Loose Skrews!"
"But... err... fuck, let me go change out of Radioshack."
So we went to Lenny's and saw The Loose Skrews, who are friends of Luke's or something. Anyway, they were pretty cool, just beer drinkin', hell raisin' punk rock. Not what I would really listen to all the time, but they are really fun live, and pretty cool guys, too.
Now, the only problem with Lenny's is that the beer is fucking cheap, so when i go there I usually end up pretty drunk by the end of the night. I'm one of those people that enjoys the actual act of drinking, so if it's possible for me to have a beer in hand I will do so. Last night, however, my hangover caught up with me; in the middle of my second PBR (my nose had been stopped up all day so I couldn't taste anything. I drank one Bass, realized I couldn't taste it, and switched to the cheap stuff) my stomach revolted and ceased letting me pour beer into it.
Which, in the end, turned out to be a good thing. My buddy Nate got way, way too drunk, and since I was still sober, I was able to drive his car home. Now, talk about an interesting car ride; apparently, he got drunk one night and broke his driver's seat, so it is always in the full reclining position. So I drove from the east side back to Buckhead holding my self up with the steering wheel, while Nate wore a pirate hat he had for some reason. It must have been an interesting sight.
