So last Saturday was, as expected, a shitty day at work. I wanted to go see Drive By Truckers that evening, but I couldn't get off early. Bah. But one of the funniest things I've ever seen at work happened on Saturday. We had a customer come in and rail against our mere 30 day return policy and complain because we would only give hima gift card since 62 days had passed since he bought whatever it was he bought. What was funny about this man, though, was that he had a fucking Hitler mustache! I mean, talk about out of fashion. I couldn't stop laughning the entire time he was in the store, and when he was walking out I said "Have a nice day; zieg heil!"
After work I headed to my friend Kevin's place for his birthday party. There weren't that many people there so we decided to go old school and just get ridiculously blasted. Highlights of the evening included me literally up to my elbows in the former residents of Vladdic's stomach and my old manager from Spencers, a former Ranger, talking about body cleanup duty and how "you might as well just throw those clothes away, because there's no getting the smell out." Also, Vladdic called us at about 4am to blame us for letting him walk home and letting him losr his keys and stand outside his apartment in the cold. He eventually found his keys and got inside. They were in his pocket.
Sunday I woke up, inexplicably, at my friend Lindsay's house. I picked up my car, went home, and promptly called in sick to work. I spent the rest of the day glued to The History Channel and Adams Family Values
Yesterday I realized that, through the incredible process of not spending money, I had a large sum of money in my bank account. Naturally, I thought "new tattoo time!" However, I quickly realized that I had spent lots of money on tattoos in the past few years and sadly neglected my other habit andthe former, pre-tattoo recipient of my extra cash: the guitar. My practice amp has been int he process of crapping out for a year or so now. So I hauled up to Guitar Center and, a few hours later, walked out with a new amp: a Vox AD30VT, a digital modeling amp that nevertheless has the all-important tube preamp. Rawk.
