so i've got all of 24 days before all of my final work for school is due...then, no more school ever...at least until grad school, but who knows when and if that'll happen. anyway, it's gonna be a hellish few weeks, but it'll all be worth it. on a sadder note, i talked to heather this weekend after a couple weeks of intense pseudo flirting (pseudo in that it was unintentional on her part), and it seems that we must remain friends, which i guess, at this point, is all i could have hoped for. all kinds of factors led me to this conclusion. but then, as the great billy bragg once said:
"It took a short walk and a talk
To change the rules of engagement
While you searched frantically for reverse and then claiming
That virtue never tested is no virtue at all
And so I lost my ignorance"
if you can tell me what song that is, you win a medal. or a cookie. or something. your pick. just remember that sometimes, ignorance is bliss, and other times knowing is bliss. i have yet to figure out which one this is. all i can say is that i'm glad that our little talk doesn't seem to have changed anything as far as our existing relationship is concerned.
oh yeah. and if you ever think that it might be a good idea to musically analyze the Mars Volta album, don't. turn, and run, and hide.
=me
p.s.-another quote to test your geek-dom: "a permanence of night can do wonders for the imagination."
