ok..
so i'm a fuckhead....on my break between shifts today i was asked to accompany someone to the book store...i agreed to go because i still had a little time to kill before i had to come back...i went with plans to buy a simple magazine to read for a half an hour or so...i figured i was safe because i bought all those books i mentioned the other day...but nooooo...i walked out of that fucking place with 4 new books..to add onto the others i got less than a week ago...that's 10 unread brand new paperbacks chilling in my room...that's retarded...i don't even really have the money to go blowing 50 bucks right after i make it...like literally RIGHT afterwards...i need to be saving...but i never was good at that...what i am good at is buying what i want when i want it (IF i can afford it) as you can very well see...i need some self control...
xoxo,
j
ps- so all that build up and i didn't tell you what i got..
1.) how i paid for college: a novel of sex, theft, friendship, and musical theater, by marc acito -- this one sounds fucking funny..some guy gets help from his friends to steal tuition money from his dad (dressed as nuns and priests)..and so on..
2.) hairstyles of the damned, by joe meno -- looks like another coming of age story..only punk rock....
3.) coma, by alex garland -- guy wakes from coma..weird shit starts happening...guy wonders if he's really awake..
4.) still life with june, by darren greer -- first of all he shares my last name...so THAT'S cool...secondly it just looks really interesting....this writer goes to gay bars and works at the salvation army looking for interesting stories to steal from people and he ends up finding a dead body somewhere and takes the guys identity and meets the guys mentally challenged sister...cool stuff...
at least that's what the backs of all the books say
...i'll let you guys know how good (or bad) all this reading will be
