So, Here I am in Salinas. I hate this city. Is it really a city? it seems like a shithole full of migrant workers and cheap chromed out Toyota Corollas. But I'm working! For four days, I'll work with Dunlop, doing the tire service for the AMA Superbike races at Laguna Seca. It's nice to get paid for something other than drinking and beating people up.
I have had the pleasure of riding two cool motorcycles in the last week....Fawndog lent me his R6 last weekend, and it was awesome to get out and ride for a while. I went back and rode the roads that I took Maddigan and Cordelia out to....with a more "spirited" pace than I did on the Friday... I love Sonny's bike!!1
Now I'm riding my friend Peter's Honda 919. What a completely different bike!!! So far, I have ridden to Santa Rosa twice, and then Monterey this morning....I have missed longish trips a lot....I can't wait for Project: Daytona to take shape. I rode to Santa Rosa for two days of American Supercamp and I can't believe how much I learned! I got to add to my bag of tricks, and spend the two days with Pete and his two kids for his 50th birthday....what a kickass time!! I highly recommend it to any motorcycle rider....fast, slow, new old or whatever....there were a couple of big-name racers out there instructing, and they were learning new things the whole time too!!!!
Anyways...long-winded blog post. fuck it. Time for more beer!! Who wants to drink with me on Monday night? Bacon? I think so fuckers!!! back to bicycle mode in 5 days!!!
