Well vacation is over (BOO!!!) and its back to life in San Antonio (BOO AGAIN!!!) and back to my shitty job (BIG BOO!!!!)
But im ok with that for now. The vacation was exactly what I needed. See I grew up with 5 miles of woods on every side of my house and spent the majority of my childhood in the wilderness. Im not a huge hippy or back woods hick. As a matter of fact I grew up in Maryland, just on the outskirts of town. But I have found that I do better in the wilderness and away from "normal society". I guess that is why I enjoyed my time in the Army so much, sleeping in the mud puddles, snow, jungles and deserts of the countries I deployed to.
The problem with Texas is that there is no public land. No place that you can just pull off on the side of the road and walk off into the unknown. If you do that here you will be walking onto someones property and chances are you will be shot. So my year here has left me feeling very claustrophobic and stuck inside.
This vacation turned out to be more than just a chance to get away from my job for a week or just a chance to get away from my life for a week. It was a chance to be me again for a week and motivation to get the hell out of Texas and back to a life that will allow me to be me.
So here is some more pictures from the trip...
