For about the last 6 months I have been working a construction job in New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Its been quite the rollercoaster ride. At times it has been fabulous, and others worse than some of the combat zones I spent time in when I was in the Army. But it looks like the ride is nearing its end. Once again my mischievous kidneys have decided to torment me with a total of 13 kidneyt stones this time, a severe infection and kidney shut downs that has landed me in the hospital several times in the last month or so and has resulted in me needing to leave this job. Im to the point now that I hate my kidneys so much I am thinking about advertising them for sale on Ebay. Considering they dont function all that well, I am willing to sell them at a rock low price. The one good thing that came from this job is I took great satisfaction in going into a motorcycle dealership and buying a 2006 Yamaha V-Star 1100 with cash money. Unfortunately my pesky kidneys kill some of the joys of riding it right now as also the horribly bumpy highways in New Orleans. As for what to do now, I had planned on setting out on a record breaking hike on the Appalachian Trail later this year, but my doctors have mentioned that to do such a thing could result in total kidney failure and possible death if I was unable to get medical attention in time. So it looks like I will have to put that off for a bit while I try to get in better health. So in the mean time I have decided to go back to college to study Arson Investigating.
