Today is the last day of my vacation, tomorrow I have to be up bright and early again for work. Those 5 weeks went by so fast. While I didn't get everything done on the extension and kitchen project, I did get pretty far. Except for the refrigerator, all the cabinets and appliances are installed. I do need to finish aligning the cabinet doors and drawers still, and mount the handles, but otherwise the kitchen is pretty much done. I'll post pictures when the walls are painted. With regards to the extension, I'm still waiting on the door frames. Untill those are installed, the extension isn't weathertight yet, and I can't put up the sheetrock and paint. But I did finish all the wiring, plumbing and framing, so it shouldn't take me that long to finish up once the door frames are in.
I've also been watching a lot of X-Files. I bought the complete dvd set the other day, and every night after my cousin went home after helping me on the house, I sat down on my couch to watch a couple of episodes while assembling cabinets or drawers, or putting together parts of the plumbing, that sort of stuff. So I pretty much worked from around 9 every morning untill 11 or 12 at night every day, albeit at a slightly slower pace after my cousin went home for the day. Anywho, I just finished season 4.
Anyway, this week will be busy. I have to get caught up on work again, I need to go back to Ikea (they delivered the wrong door handles with my kitchen, so I need to exchange them), I need to contact my contractor again to get an ETA on the door frames, I have to get this place looking somewhat decent again after 5 weeks of construction. But the good news is that I can finally cook dinner in my own kitchen again, after having to my parents' the past 2 or 3 weeks. Hopefully that also means I'll be eating a little healthier again. Not having a kitchen, or a fixed (work) schedule means I haven't been eating as healthy as usual. I hardly ever eat pizza or take-out, but I've been craving just that after a hard day's work.
In other news: the blue sweat is gone. I think it might have been the new shampoo I got a few weeks ago.
