My little girl has been in heat the past couple of days, a bit earlier than I expected. She's only about 10 months now, I figured I still had some time to have her spayed. So I had put it off untill after I finish work on the house. She's actually been pretty cute during the whole thing. I mean, I still feel bad for her, the poor thing has no idea what's happening to her. But she's super affectionate and she chirps all day (though that gets old after a few days, too ). She did cry and wail a bit, but not nearly as much as I had feared. But maybe the worst is yet to come still .
I've had a couple of days off, due to Queen's day and Liberation day. Most of the time was spent on 2 projects I had been meaning to do for a while now. The first project was making a camera bag. I've bought quite a bit of gear lately, and I couldn't find a bag that fit my needs. So I decided to make one myself. I took a backpack I already had, and made an insert for it to hold all my gear. Well, I'm not fully done yet. I'm at about 80% I'd say, but I broke the sewing machine's needle during the weekend when sewing on a zipper. Since the craft store was closed, I had to stop working on it untill I could get a replacement. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it tomorrow. It's been about 15 years since I last touched a sewing machine, and keeping that in mind, I certainly wasn't dissatisfied. Both with the quality and the time it took me to make it. I'll show you pictures when I'm done, and have the last bit of gear that I ordered.
The second project was my entertainment center. I bought a second (used) cd-changer the other day, and I ran out of room for my equipment. So I modified my entertainment center a bit. This is the current setup: The big gap above the amp is reserved for a second dvd-changer, the one I have doesn't (even nearly) have enough room to hold all my dvd's. I started with 2 standard bookcases from Ikea when I moved into this place, and since then I added a piece whenever the need arose. I chopped bookcases in half to hold my tv and stereo, turned spare shelves into (large) drawers, chopped up a cd-case and some shelves to transform a bookcase into a display for my special edition dvd's and action figures, et cetera. I like customising things. Everything you see started out as either this bookcase or this cd-case (in silver).
Speaking of action figures; if anyone knows a place that sells Sloth, I'd love to hear so that I can complete my Goonies collection. Most places I found online don't have it in stock anymore, and the ones that do charge the craziest prices for it (one store even asked a staggering 85 British pounds for it, wtf? It cost around $20 when it got released) or shipping will cost me an arm and a leg. It's a line from Mezco Toys, and Sloth is about 7" high.
I had something else I wanted to write about, but Chrome crashed and I can't remember anymore. I'm sure I'll remember sooner or later.

Don't go too much longer to get Tara spayed, not that it will hurt her any, but it will really start to drive you insane. One of the cats I had, I waited until she was 2, due to lack of time and money. Let me tell you it was only cute listening to her meow in heat for a really short time, the it got really really annoying. Ideally cats need to be spayed between 4-6 months old.
