I guess it's been a while since I blogged, huh.
Well, not much has been going on. Work has been keeping me busy, and I haven't really had time (or motivation) for anything else. The most exciting thing I've done, is probably buying a new suit last week (as some of you already know, as I've been bugging everyone about picking out a tie for me to wear . I have far too many!). Yeah, not THAT exciting, I know. But it's the best I got .I don't really like suits, and thankfully work doesn't require me wearing a suit everyday (yet), but I'm starting to warm up to them. They're not quite as comfortable and convenient as the cargo pants and linnen shirts I wear to work usually, but they do have a certain something. No pics though, since I'm really fed up with my weight right now.
Speaking of weight, I've been trying to lose some again. I lost about 6 lbs since I switched to sweeteners instead of sugar in my tea (I drink a lot of tea), which is good, but I'm still way too fat. I have no desire to get really skinny, nor would me being skinny be very realistic, but I would like to get back under 100 kg (220 lbs), the amount I weighed before I started my medication. That's still quite a lot, compared to the average weight of people here, but I'd be content with that. I don't know, I'm kinda obsessed with my weight, with all the weight-related health issues in my immidiate family.
This weekend, I might take my new camera and shoot some pictures in Amsterdam, weather permitting. My mom and dad grew up in Amsterdam, and they want some black & white pictures on the wall (instead of family photos, as quite a few people have passed away the past few year, so they want something else to look at every day, if that makes sense). Since we couldn't find any nice black & white pictures or cards, and I have a photoprinter at home, I'll just try and snap some pictures myself. This way they can also pick landmarks near where they grew up, or otherwise have some significance to them.
I'm also going to pick up my brother's Christmas present while I'm there. Yeah, I know it's really early, but it's something hard to find. He's really into Metallica, and has been trying to get his hands on their "Live Shit: Binge and Purge" box for years. But they've been out of print for years, so they're fairly hard to find in Europe. And when you do come across them (used), they're either damaged, incomplete, or really expensive (or a combination thereof). Or it's the US VHS version, which is NTSC so it won't play here, even if he still had a VCR. When he and I went to Amsterdam last week to pick up my suit, we saw the DVD version (still new, by the looks of it) in a music store there. It was kinda expensive, certainly too much to buy it himself, but I know how much he wants it. So I'm going to get it as his Christmas present. Since he was with me the whole time at the store, I couldn't buy it for him without ruining the surprise, so I'm going back to buy it for him this weekend.
That's all I can think of for now. Like I said, life hasn't been really exciting over here. But I'm hanging in there, and I love you all .
