Today was a like watching one of the books I read.
I went to court today to help an employee get a restraining order against her ex who didn't show. In the meantime we had to sit through 10 or 15 other cases of the same type.
It made me a little sad to see these people, not the smartest
I've had the pleasure of meeting and many had substance issues. One defendant was led in wearing the orange jumper and cuffed to his belt. Poor guy didn't really know why he was there and it seemed like her attorney was trying to make a deal with him that screwed him royally. Her lawyer was appearently a shifty friend to the both of them before the issue started and it seemed he was there just to get paid.
I do give her the benefit of the doubt but the lawyer seemed to be telling her what to say and the guy wasn't represented in any way. Oh well.
Saw Cap'n Bryn tonight and dropped off her xmas gift and then went to play some beer pong at my buddies. People started pairing off and going to rooms so I sobered up a bit and headed home. G'night

My favorite restraining order story was when my friend had to file one and was at court, and heard a story of a girl saying "My baby's daddy threw me out a moving car"
Then I laughed and felt bad.
