So I have a big old crush on the Chinese girl at the Chinese place. Her English isn't the best, but she is really sweet AND gorgeous.
Whenever I cross paths with her in public she waves and chats with me for a moment.
Too bad I'm a coward. I'd love to get to know her better.
I may get a job at the DVD manufacturing place. It pays decent.

Make an offhand comment to her one day about bowling or some similar leisure activity that more than one person can get involved in. If she responds with interest say she should come out with you the next time you go.
It's safe, it's neutral and if she says no, you can brush it off carry on wih the rest of your conversation. If she says yes, well you're going to have to make sure your smile doesn't split your skull smile
