I didn't get any of the eight trillion jobs I applied for at corporate. I was getting pretty bummed today when on my lunch break, a store manager in Phoenix called and said he wanted to transfer me over. It's pretty much a done deal on his end but he still has to get the district manager's go-ahead, which is pretty stupid but that's a corporation for you.
This store is in the Chris Town (or whatever it's called now) Mall so it will be interesting to see the clientele. He was saying the store is in crappy shape performance-wise so it'll be a lot of work to get it where it should be. I've been seriously considering leaving the company as soon as I get to Phoenix but this store is very close to our house and the store manager seems like a pretty cool guy. I may stick around for a little while but retail is definitely not where I want to be for a long-term career. In any event, it looks like I may actually be in Phoenix in the next few weeks. I may actually be able to live in my own house with my wife soon.
