Omigod. I am a lucky bastard. As some or none of you may know, Billy Corgan is currently recording a solo album. He decided a little while ago to allow a small number of fans to come watch him working in the studio. He posted recently that the first 120 people at the Metro this morning would be able to go next week. I was one of them.
The line wasn't supposed to start forming until 9:00. I set my alarm for 7:00 because I knew people would be waiting anyway. I woke up at 6:00 and decided to get up. Some chick who had been waiting since midnight had the idea to give everyone who showed up a number to keep things orderly. She talked to a few people at the Metro and they said it was cool. I was number 54. I was actually surprised I was as far up as I was. I think I would've been in trouble if I got there much later. I even got assigned a date that I have off from work. I will more than likely be a face in the crowd on a DVD released later this year. I can't believe how well this worked out. Plus, Billy is playing his first solo show here on the 19th. If for no other reason, this makes it worth it moving to Chicago.
