So I decided to change my major. I'm just not feeling the whole music business thing anymore but I have really been digging my ASL (American Sign Language) class. I'm now going to pursue a career using ASL, possibly in a teaching environment. My cousin and his wife want to set up a kid's camp in South Carolina. I think I might enjoy working there in some capacity but I don't know that they'll ever get it off the ground. I also don't know that I want to live in the Carolinas. I really like Chicago and I'm sure there are plenty of opportunities here. I'm looking into volunteering at the Chicago Park District at a day camp and my teacher has been ultra cool and said (or signed) that I can write her or come by her office any time I need some advice. It's kinda scary throwing all of my previous life plans away, but I think I'll be happier doing this.

I'm going to Columbia College. I'll be done in January. I dunno what I'm doing from there. I'll probably get a Master's in Education and try to get a Deaf teaching certificate. One of the big points in the whole Music Biz thing is that you usually have to pick between the art and business sides of music. I choose art. Really, the only reason I went here to begin with was to give me an idea on how the industry works so that if I ever got in a band that went somewhere, I wouldn't get screwed. This guy I was working with for a while decided he wanted to get back together to re-form the band. Maybe there's hope yet that I'll be a rawk star. I guess I could sign the lyrics on stage if I wanted to combine my passions smile
