We’ve been renting for almost 6 years, slowly eliminating all debt except cars and student loans and paying off back taxes from 2010.

We were going to wait 2 more years and save for a down payment, but changed our minds. Housing prices are expected to rise over the next few years, so the getting is good now. VA backed $0 down loan certainly helps.
