The Leonids Meteor Shower Photoshoot on 18 November 2017 was a bust... mostly. I saw four meteors, two were not where my camera was pointed, two were. Of those two, one appeared while I was shooting dark frames for stacking. I captured the other, but my camera got out of focus somehow during that series of photos, so it was out of focus.
But I did get some good photos which you can view on my website. Before the shoot I bought a motorized turntable and an intervalometer so I could shoot up to 360* photos and videos. So, in addition to a few good photos, I also got a good panorama video. And I created a cool time lapse video from 99 photos shot toward Las Vegas.

Hope you enjoy them.
I went out to Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge on Wednesday 22 November 2017. I think I got to one of the reservoirs to see any waterfowl except an assortment of coots and ducks the likes of which I've seen and shot at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve. I got a couple of nice photos, but I didn't take many.
I went to Valley of Fire State Park on Friday, 24 November 2017. The highlight of the trip happened not long after I arrived when I saw a pair of male Desert Bighorn Sheep. I think I got one or two good shots with my 500mm lens, but I haven't downloaded them yet, so I'm not completely sure. But I did get quite a few really nice landscape photos, including Elephant Rock, Arch Rock, Atlatl Rock and some other more panoramic photos.
Photos from both day trips will be coming soon.
We're coming up on December. My Patreon rewards for December are ready to go and are scheduled to be published at 12 AM 01 December 2017.
