I have pretty much been drunk every night since uni ended. Last night i resigned myself to a night of sulking and being alone and all 'woe is me' - 'im so emo'. But then the gods came down from heaven and said, 'no, you silly bitch' - quite literally. Erin showed up at my door with a smile on her face and a Smirnoff in her hand. Dad donated money to my cause and asked if I was coming back. 'One day,' I said. Erin told me before we left, 'get one for the road'. Who am I to question the will of the the gods?
We went to pick up Jro and Baka. Didn't go so smoothly. We got Baka, it was a 50% job well done. Jro was to meet the new boy at her place and meet us later. We headed for the Annandale. We approach the bar and the tend points to the growing wall of empty neon Jagermeister bottles and lets us know that there, for some beautiful divine reason was free Jager. Again, who am I to go against the will of the gods? No one, my good friends. No one. We got about twenty Jager and lemonades and proceeded to act like we owned the place. We find Jro, the boy is met, he's lovely. He's got a good vibe to him. Companiero Gordon Cook left an essay home alone to join our growing festivities.
My radar was on full alert, I scared Gordon with the extent of my perving. I was dodging cute band members left right and center, there were those with blue eyes and trendy hair, tall, short, some of every colour and size. But one in particular stole me heart for the night. Good old ... I can't remember his name. Let call him, Tom (This makes me realise I have never actually known a Tom). Tom proceeded to look after us all night, laughing, crying, he was there when we needed him the most. He taught us many a thing. Like, how to set our mouths on fire. It involved a cute guy that Erin had picked up (funding or our project which was totally nice), black sambuca and a lighter. Tom demonstrated the techniques, where to hold the liquid in your mouth, etc. This was it, moment of truth, I down that black liquor and Erin's coming towards me with the lighter. I see the blue flames, freak out and shut my mouth. Best thing ever.
Jro's boy's (who happens to conveniently have not one but TWO cute brothers! And a whole band full of cute friends) band, Innermission, is headlining the night and they begin their set. I must say that they sounded fantastic and made it seem effortless, they have a nice mix between metal and funk, totally enjoyable. Jro, Erin, Gordon and I all got our crazy on at this point and danced and danced and danced for most of the set.
A few hours later I find myself walking down the empty annandale streets with Gordon and Erin singing 'You oughtta know' at the top of our lungs. We get, somewhere, some place thats still serving and proceed to sing eighties classics with the bouncers in the pokies room. *SHAME* I try to tell the lovely bartender lady that I think she's beautiful and proceed to stumble over. I try to regain some composure and dignity bid her adieu and we leave singing, 'I will survive!'. Gordon's apartment is across the road, we climb neverending steps in a place that looks like its out of a Kubrick film. We drink more Jager. I call people. I straddle Erin and pretend to ride her like a pony. Photos are taken and I decide its time to leave. I bid adieu to the night that was my lover, my friend for such a short time.
I am now gorging on fruits of the earth. It is a fruit bonanza right here. On a different note, I killed the bee that has been living in my room for the last week. This makes me feel acomplished
