Hello all, no scathing political or social commentary. "I'm too tired, too old, I'm too fucking blind" to quote Pacino. I look around, I look around, and I see a lot of old, familiar faces and old familiar places.
Goddamn, but I hate it. At this point I'm ready for the apocalypse; something, ANYTHING, to replace this soul-crushing atmosphere of blindness and blandness.
I'm talking to a girl now, gay as a tree full of monkeys high on NOS. (Pratchett/Gaiman reference), but you know something, I'm pretty pleased about that. I'm too old for sexual tension in my facebook conversations.
Thank Bast though, because this girl is a Scandinavian geek goddess. An N7 Valkyrie. She's pretty and smart and has a good heart and a fine sense of humor.
So, of course, someone (and by someone I mean men who insist their women be pets) has drilled it into her head that she is fat, ugly, stupid, and condemned to die by loneliness.
What. The. Fuck?!
God, I'm so tired of this; why, WHY do so many extraordinary people relegate themselves to second-class citizens whilst the truly mundane are elevated above them.
Why, why, why did my fellow XY brothers convince the XX's that they needed to be size 0 or less and have the IQ of a goddamn house plant so the husband could be "the man of the house". Are we truly that fucking insecure as a gender?
Hey, you want that kind of relationship, get a dog and build a porno collection, it's comparable.
However, my sisters-from-another-mister, you aren't innocent either.
Certain men may have driven this poison in you, but it was your choice to accept it and that's on you. Only now are we FINALLY starting to see the women of the west take a look at their situation and promptly rage the fuck out. We're also seeing a better generation of men; those that want women, not pets.
About goddamn time.
Ugh, I hate gender politics. Here, I have a message for both parties: "GROW THE FUCK UP!" Stop endorsing mindless dependency as a relationship staple.
Just....UGH!
Well, so much for no social commentary, better luck next time.
Okay, lets end it on a different note: a while back here in Boston, several firefighters died in the line of duty. With the exception of New York, nobody treats firemen with the kind of hero worship and adoration they do here. These are not gods though, but only human.
I don't know if they are the best of humanity.
I do know though that they stepped up and demonstrated what was best IN humanity.
Works for me. Thank you, guys.
Bye kids, till next time.
