Okay, I'm trying this again. I was just in the middle of telling you about my trip to Hawaii, but I accidentally clicked a link and lost everything.
Now... I don't even want to repeat it. I hate typing, you see. Love writing, hate typing. In short, my writing career is kinda fucked.
Here, I'll sum up my thoughts on Hawaii in a few random thoughts I had throughout the week.
"This place must have been amazing in the 50's." (my first thought as I first stepped on Oahu ground)
There's so many Asian tourists!
Hey, surfer girl!
I KNEW this was the perfect place to be a bum.
Am I in a huge outdoor mall?
Hey, I saw my hotel on Magnum PI or Hawaii 5-0 or something!
Baby, you look amazing in that bikini.
Baby, you look like a sack of pork in that bikini.
So, aloha shirts with company logo designs are uniforms here, huh?
You want HOW much for that Big Mac meal?
This place is beautiful, when you look past the fat old people, scores of Asian tourists, and the ABC stores.
I am never gonna get laid here. Golden gods are everywhere, and I'm a pasty comic dork.
Hawaiian beer: not bad.
Hawaiian mexican food: bad.
That old lady singing and playing the ukelele is the next White Stripes.
This bar sucks.
I wish I could surf. Too bad I can't afford lessons.
Could she be applying that suntan lotion any slower? FUCK!
Ocean water tastes awful, but man, does it feel good.
Oh my god, I'm getting old... I'm at a golf tournament and I'm enjoying myself!
Now THAT is a fucking sunset.
So, I've been back, and gotten back into the sing of my regular life. We're getting ready for a big event at my comic shop on February 3rd. We're having a fundraiser party for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. Don't ask me what it is, I've explained it to hundreds of people already. Just check out cbldf.org if you're interested. I'll do a quick post about it in the Austin group so local SGers have something to do, which has been a recent complaint in the group as of late. Amazing that nin this town with billions of fun things to do, no one has any suggestions. Oh well.
I hope you're all doing well. Though I don't update in here everyday, i do check out my bookmarks to see how you all are. Things seem to be going pretty well, for the most part! I do miss listening and posting during SG Radio, but this is the cot of being the second banana at the best comic shop in the world.
