Yesterday was officially Iron Maiden Day, and being a huge Maiden fan I joined the thousands of others who should have flocked to their local cinema to watch Flight 666 last night. I thought it was kinda odd showing a film for one night only, but I realised how much sense it made; almost a guaranteed sellout and lots of coverage!
My local Odeon was absolutely rammed, there was probably only about 5 seats free in the place, and the atmosphere was pretty cool; lots of banter, a couple of chants, a half assed Mexican Wave (we did our job!) and everyone decked out in the Maiden shirts. Even the cinema staff had tried to get in on the fun, but oddly enough ended up looking like the lovechild of Axl Rose and Nikki Syxx, if they'd slept with the members of Twisted Sister and somehow given birth. It weren't pretty.
The film on the other hand, was seriously awesome. Maiden are a pretty private band and so to see the inner-workings of one of Britain's oldest and most highly respected metal acts was a privelege. The documentary makers caught some stunning moments on film and the concert footage was the best I've seen from the Irons. I've already pre-ordered the DVD
I've seen Maiden on every tour since 2003, and there's no tour this year Hurry up and tour again guys! I want more photos like the one at the bottom
The Gunners managed to snatch a point at Anfield last night which made me happy; to put 4 past the Premiership leaders with a depleted team and a 50% effort from some of them is no small feat. For one player to score those 4 goals is unbelieveable!! I am SO looking forward to seeing Arshavin let loose next season, the guy is a genius.
In other news I've given up the booze for a little while...I felt I'd spent too many mornings waking up feeling shit with an emptyish wallet, and I need to cut back. Sometimes I like it so much it scares me. Still, it's a good excuse for me to focus on getting fitter for the summer, and fitter for my job. Think it's gonna be a bit demanding!
I'm gonna close out with something I nicked off a friend's facebook profile, but I thought was kinda fun. I'm sure this is something that would change regularly, and this is in no particular order...but here's a first take;

CRUE!!!!
That is all.
I have a strange love for the Revenge album by KISS and NO ONE gets it!!!! Yeah, old school KISS were great and I have the first verse to 'She' tattooed around my ankle but nothing beats the full-on filth of KISS when they took their make-up off!
For about 3 years when I was working in sexy lady naked dancing clubs I went under the name Domino
