1. At this point if the two of you want to save the relationship you need a third party. Preferably a couples/marriage counselor, but just a well grounded individual with good common sense would help. They can keep it from turning into a shouting match and make both of you think about what each of you are saying.
2. If their "reason" is something you believe 100% then they are not friends, just acquaintances. You need to fix things so you can rely on each other. Hey, you're a bright girl. Take a mechanic's course and learn to do it yourself.
