So unless your living under a rock somewhere you would probably have heard of Cecil the lion that was shot and killed by the US dentist Palmer for $50 000. I'm looking at this from a completely neutral perspective and a non hunter.
Southern Africa is great tourist destination especially for hunting and wildlife, thousands of animals are hunted yearly in SA for biltong as well as for trophies and done by famous SA figures such as rugby players and singers. So why the big whoo haaa about just another lion getting killed.
I'll tell you the issue I have with this is that the Lion was already quite usto human interaction so had no sort of fear of them or of the bow and arrow the moron was using , also if hunting is to be done it should be as quick and painless as possible. This poor beast had to walk wounded for 40 hours before it finally died!
Wether we like hunting or not its not going away so more stringent regulations need to be brought in to govern it.
Thats just my 2 cents....
