I agree there's nothing wrong with feeling good....it's just I don't want to change my life in order to feel that good...because I don't want to hurt the people around me. I've always had this problem with trying to please and make everyone happy around me...before I dealt with my own happiness. I thought I was finally getting over that...but I guess I'm not.

As far as mentally abusive relationships go, I think everyone's been there. You just don't see it when you're in it like you do when you get out of it. Don't blame yourself. Just be glad you see it for what it was, so many don't and continue the cycle.
