Well, Ive got some good news. I have been working on a study/experiment at my job, and my professor (boss) says I have done an excellent job, and maybe this summer I could sumbit a journal article for publication! Ahhhh!!! It would just be some crappy entomology journal, but still that would be awesome to get published. I would feel like a true scientist.
So I would go into detail on my experiment, but it might bore you. Therefor I will give you a shortened version. I have spent the last couple weeks mating crickets, and then disecting out the female's spermetheca (the sac that holds the sperm) in hopes to be able to tell how many times a female has mated (once, twice, or three times). So far, it seems that you can score a female, just by measuring the area of sperm in the spermetheca. Which isn't that exciting, but it has implications for further research we are planning on doing this summer.
So aren't you proud of me?
