I really wish I had more of substance to post about than working out. Work is just something I do to get a paycheck and live the rest of my life. Barely. I've been thinking more and more about how I need a creative hobby. I have hobbies, but none of them actually produce anything. I don't really build anything. This makes me wish I still lived in Saskatchewan. I could be spending my evenings with my dad, learning the make knives. Something I should have started doing years ago. No use dwelling on it now though. I'm never going to have that time back. I'd really like to make a film or something too, but what am I going to use, my iPhone?
I miss ultimate, but I can't risk the shoulder. Not again. i've been lucky as it is. Took a few extra minutes to try to work the micro-muscles in my shoulders before I left the gym today and realized that it's still really unstable. As strong as I might get, my shoulder is always going to be a liability. I'm not ready to give up on the idea of playing Masters in a couple years yet though.
I definitely need to increase the effort I'm putting in to cardio too. Our usual 4.5km loop took me almost 27 minutes yesterday. Granted, I had to stop for Bru a couple of times, but that's a big percentage off from our best time.
Stronglifts Session 21 - Workout A
Squats - 5x5 @ 145. Ran all the way to the gym today and still felt strong throughout.
Bench Press - 5x5 @ 95. Still only doing 30 seconds rest between sets.
Barbell Row - 5x5 @ 115 - Did it, and I can feel it, but I'm more and more convinced my form is shit. When I go on Saturday, I'll take it right back down to the bar and focus on form for a few sets.
Hangs - 40seconds, 30seconds reverse.
Knees to Chest Kip-Ups - 3x8,. Trying not to tear myself up as bad this time to see if I can do them throughout the week.
